Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and transLaw & Justice launched, a new website “Transforming India” in New Delhi.
The website, www.transformingindia.mygov.in, will provide information in a user-friendly format enabling citizens to view the content in the form of infographics, e-books, performance dashboard, videos, daily news corner, and engage with the content by comments and sharing the content through social media
The website thus bridges the gap between citizens and government and provides a seamless interface for two way information interchange

UNESCO declares Nalanda Mahavihara(Nalanda University) as World Heritage Site

The World Heritage Committee on Sunday evening agreed to put 12 new sites on the World Heritage List before ending its 40th session in Turkey's Istanbul city
From India, Khangchendzonga National Park (KNP) in Sikkim was named a world heritage site by the committee. In addition to this, Nalanda University in Bihar and The Capitol Complex in Chandigarh have also made it to the list
Thesession has placed a total of 21 out of 27 nominations for this year on the prestigious list, Xinhua news agency reported. With the 21 newly added — 12 cultural sites, six natural and three mixed ones — the heritage list has now 1,052 sites in 165 countries
This would be the second UNESCO heritage site in Bihar after Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya.
The 41st session is slated for July 2017 in Krakow, Poland

Ansari unveils Gandhi's stone statue in Mongolian monastery

President Hamid Ansari today unveiled a stone statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Pethub Monastery in the Mongolian capital which is seen as symbol of India-Mongolia cultural and spiritual ties.
After unveiling the statue of the 'Father of the Nation', the Vice President also went around the monastery founded by former Indian ambassador Kushok Bakula Rinpoche.
Pethub Monastery, seen as symbol of India-Mongolia cultural and spiritual ties, was inaugurated in August, 1999 by Indian Vice President Krishan Kant.

India slips to third place on business optimism index: Grant Thornton
