Union HRD Ministry launches 'Prashikshak'

Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani launched "Prashikshak" teacher education portal to develop District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and bring quality teachers into the school education system

About Praskishak Portal: It contain a database of all DIETs in the country with all relevant performance indicator
Developer of Praskishak Portal: It is developed by the union HRD ministry in collaboration with the Central Square Foundation
Benefits: 

• This portal lauched to strengthen DIETs and bring quality teachers into the school education system
• It will create opportunity to central and state govt. to do real time monitoring of the institutions.

*According to Smriti Irani, the fact that though the Prashiskshak has started only for DIETs, it will cover Block level institutes in the future and identify gaps at the bottom of the pyramid
